Size and inseam

The range is listed XS to 4XL. The maker states that the pieces run true to size, and we print that as the maker's words rather than as a promise of our own. Where a style is listed in one size only, that is what has a price today, not a decision about who the pair is for.

Sizes on this range sell separately, so every page shows a row for each size with its own price instead of one price for the style. Two sizes of the same pair can differ by a couple of dollars, and the cheaper one is not a different product.

Length is the harder number. Most of this range has no inseam choice, so the leg comes as it comes. Where the maker publishes a flat length we show it in the specification table: across the 43 styles that publish one, the figures run from 37 to 44 inches.

The practical test takes a tape and thirty seconds. Measure from the top of your own waistband to where you want the hem to sit, in the shoes you will actually wear with the pair. On a wide leg or a flare, an inch too long drags and an inch too short reads as a mistake; on a bootcut or a straight leg you have more room to be wrong.

What we cannot do is tell you how a size runs on your body, and we would rather say so than invent a fit chart. The ratings on each page are the closest thing to that, and 61 of the 416 styles here carry one.
